Privacy Policy

RightFit ("we," "our," "the assessment") is a behavioral hiring-assessment platform used by employers ("pilot customers," "employers") to evaluate job candidates ("candidates," "you"). This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. It is actively maintained and periodically updated as our practices and legal review evolve.
What we collect
From an employer starting a pilot, we collect: company name, contact name/email, the role being hired for, and a list of candidates (name, email, and optionally phone number) that the employer submits.
From a candidate, we collect: your name and email (either entered directly, or provided to us by the employer that invited you), your assessment responses across the cognitive, motivational, and professional-practice sections, and — only if you choose to provide it — voluntary demographic self-identification (race/ethnicity, gender, age band).
How your information reaches us if an employer invites you
If an employer submits your name and email as part of a hiring pilot, we store that information and send you an invitation email before you have taken any action — this is how the invitation reaches you. If you never open the email or never start the assessment, we still hold the contact information the employer submitted. You can ask us to delete it at any time — see "Your rights" below.
How we use your information
- To administer the assessment and score your responses.
- To generate an AI-assisted narrative interpretation of your results. Your scores and first name are sent to Anthropic (our AI provider) to generate this narrative; Anthropic retains this data for up to 30 days per their standard API terms. Your voluntary demographic self-identification (if provided) is never sent to the AI model.
- To provide your results (scores, narrative, and role-fit comparison) to the employer that invited you.
- To monitor the fairness of this assessment in aggregate. Voluntary demographic self-identification is stored separately from your results, is never shown to the people evaluating you individually, and is used only in aggregate (grouped with other candidates) to check for disparities across groups. Declining to provide it has no effect on your assessment or candidacy.
One input, never the decision
Your assessment results, including any AI-generated narrative, are one input the employer may use alongside the rest of your application. RightFit does not make hiring decisions, and no feature of this product automatically decides, screens out, ranks, or selects candidates without a human employer making that decision.
Data retention
Assessment records are retained to provide results to the employer and to maintain the statistical record used to compute norms and monitor fairness. If you'd like your personally-identifying information removed while preserving only de-identified, aggregate data for these purposes, contact us using the details below.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your personal information, by emailing privacy@rightfit.com. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell candidate or employer information to third parties.
